Today we’ve spent some time on the balcony just having a general tidy up. At this time of year, things are starting to blossom and fruits are starting to form, and that’s all a bit bloody exciting if you ask me.
Earlier in the year, when the cayenne peppers and the bell peppers (California Orange, California Red, Purple Bell and some yellow variety that I can’t remember) were just mere seedlings I did the worst thing possible and mixed them up. Consequently, it is only now that I realize what we’ve actually been nursing in the pots. We’ve got a lot of cayennes (which is never a bad thing), and definitely two of the Purple Bell peppers. The rest are still following so we’ll know soon.
The grape vines are still putting effort into teensy weensy grapes which we will thin over the coming weeks, and the apple trees have single digit numbers of apples on. To be honest, that’s not a bad thing (re apples), we’re just trying to keep them alive for another year until they can go in the ground in our new garden.
As for now, I’m off to have a little sweep, but I’ll leave you with the latest look at the terrace… purple peppers included!
